Field Trip Schedule

Trip Schedule

Spring 2008

The GEO 101 class will learn geologic mapping in the course of ten days of field work throughout the Spring Quarter. For six days we will be in the Calico Mountains mapping folded sedimentary strata of Miocene age. For four days in the San Bernardino Mountains, near Landers, we practice mapping intrusive and extrusive igneous rocks.

The group will include 2 foreign exchange students (Chris Ball - UK, Mark Benoit - France) 4 UCR undergraduates (Andrew Robinson, Jennifer Riggle, Greg Herzog, Jason Phillpot), one graduate student (Noah Planavsky), a Teaching Assistant (Camille Partin) and a Professor (Pete Sadler).
